SEN Teacher

Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive, Dependent on Experience
Our client, a specialist SEN school, is currently seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will lead a class of 7 students, each with individualised learning needs, supported by 3 experienced Teaching Assistants in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the unique needs and abilities of each student, ensuring accessibility and differentiation.
- Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with a range of special educational needs, including autism, ADHD, and other complex learning difficulties.
- Work collaboratively with TAs to provide an inclusive, supportive, and structured learning environment that promotes emotional and social development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to achieve the best outcomes.
- Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and external professionals, providing regular updates on student progress and well-being.
- Foster a positive, safe, and stimulating classroom atmosphere where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and other strategies to support students' emotional regulation.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status or relevant SEN teaching qualification.
- Experience working in a SEN setting, preferably with children with autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties.
- Strong understanding of child development and the challenges faced by children with special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- A creative, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching, with a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.
