Hours: 8:15am - 4:15pm, Monday to Thursday; 8:15am - 3:00pm on Fridays
Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking to support a child with Autism in a mainstream primary school?
SANZA Teaching Agency is partnering with a supportive primary school in Ealing, West London, to recruit a confident and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant for a 1:1 role starting in September 2025.
You will be working closely with a non-verbal Key Stage 1 pupil with Autism, who can display challenging and high-energy behaviour, particularly during times of frustration or sensory overload. The role requires someone consistent, patient, and confident in supporting emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 support for a non-verbal KS1 pupil with Autism
Use structured routines, visual timetables, and sensory regulation strategies
Support and de-escalate behaviour calmly and consistently
Identify early signs of dysregulation and respond appropriately
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents/carers
Contribute to progress monitoring and personalised learning plans
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Strong experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a school setting
Skilled in managing challenging and energetic behaviour using proactive strategies
Calm, consistent, and firm but fair in setting clear expectations
Emotionally resilient with strong interpersonal skills
Committed to inclusive education and supporting pupil wellbeing
Able to work effectively as part of a team and follow agreed behaviour plans
This is a full-time role for the 2025-26 academic year. Working hours are Monday to Thursday from 8:15am to 4:15pm, and 8:15am to 3:00pm on Fridays.
