About the Role

Step into a role where your skills and creativity will shine! You'll provide vital technical support to both the Design and Technology and Art departments, helping create an engaging and safe learning environment for students. Collaborate closely with enthusiastic teachers and curious students, encouraging independent learning and supporting practical workshop sessions.

Workshop Supervision: Assist with practical sessions by supervising, demonstrating, and offering hands-on help.

Equipment Maintenance: Keep all power machines (e.g., band saws, lathes, millers) in top condition and ensure all tools are sharp and safe to use.

CAD/CAM Setup: Manage and set up all CAD/CAM equipment, including Techsoft 2D Design program and laser cutting.

Ceramics Knowledge: Utilize your experience with ceramics and manage the kiln firing process.

Stock Management: Monitor materials and equipment, order supplies, and keep records of departmental spending.

Health & Safety: Ensure all health and safety records are up-to-date, including equipment checks, risk assessments, and COSHH regulations.

What We're Looking For:

Experience in design and art-related tasks.

Background in a design technology or art environment, particularly with woodwork.

Knowledge of ceramics and kiln firing processes.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM equipment and software, especially Techsoft 2D Design and laser cutting.

An enhanced DBS check, as you'll be working directly with students.
