£95 - £105 per day
SANZA Teaching Agency is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Havering seeking a committed Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs, particularly pupils with Autism, and helping them thrive both academically and socially.

The Role

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday (term time only)
  • Working hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Immediate start available
  • Supporting pupils across the primary age range with Autism and additional learning needs
  • Working closely with teachers and the SEND team to promote engagement, progress and wellbeing
  • Encouraging positive social interaction and independence within the classroom

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Autism and other additional needs
  • Support communication, learning and social development
  • Assist pupils with emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual sensory and emotional needs
  • Foster positive peer relationships and inclusion
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive and engaging learning environment

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should:
  • Have previous experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs, particularly Autism
  • Demonstrate a proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning
  • Be able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
The following experience would be advantageous:
  • Makaton
  • PECS
  • British Sign Language (BSL)
  • AAC devices or other specialist communication methods

Pay and Progression

The daily rate for this position is £95 to £105 per day, depending on relevant experience, SEND knowledge and specialist skills. Candidates with previous SEN support experience, Autism-specific knowledge, or experience using specialist communication approaches may be considered for the higher end of the pay scale.
