SANZA Teaching Agency are supporting a close- knit, inclusive 1- form entry primary school in Waltham Forest. They are seeking a kind, dedicated teaching assistant to join their team.

The role will be working across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 providing targeted support to students with additional needs.

As a teaching assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individualised support to pupils with Autism, helping them engage with and access the curriculum.

  • Establishing and maintaining consistent classroom routines.

  • Encouraging independence and helping pupils take an active role in their learning.

  • Recognising and supporting pupils' sensory needs.

  • Helping children develop emotional regulation skills and positive relationships with others.

  • Working closely with class teachers and the SEN team to ensure pupils receive appropriate support.

About you:

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant, preferably within a primary school.

  • A strong understanding of Autism and sensory processing needs.

  • Effective behaviour management skills.

  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to use their own initiative.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents.
