About the Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency are delighted to be working with a fantastic specialist Primary SEND school in Brent, North West London, who are seeking a creative, nurturing and enthusiastic KS2 Teacher to take on a small Year 5 class after the October half-term.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a teacher who enjoys delivering engaging, practical lessons and wants to make a real difference to children with additional learning needs.

The role involves teaching a Year 5 class of approximately 8 pupils who are working broadly at KS1 academic levels, with a focus on adapting the National Curriculum to meet their individual abilities.

The school welcomes applications from experienced SEND Teachers, mainstream Primary Teachers and ECTs who are enthusiastic about developing their experience within specialist education.

The Role

As the Year 5 SEND Class Teacher, you will:

  • Take responsibility for a small Year 5 class of approximately 8 pupils.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons pitched broadly at KS1 learning levels.
  • Adapt the National Curriculum to meet individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes.
  • Support pupils with Autism, communication difficulties and sensory needs.
  • Work closely with 2-3 Teaching Assistants to provide consistent classroom support.

About the School

Our client is a well-established specialist Primary SEND school in Brent, supporting children aged 4-11, primarily with Autism and associated communication and learning needs.

The school has a lovely family feel, with small classes, excellent adult support and a strong commitment to making learning enjoyable and accessible.

School highlights include:

  • Small class sizes of approximately 8-10 pupils.
  • Typically 2-3 Teaching Assistants supporting each class.
  • A creative, holistic curriculum incorporating Music, Art, Drama, Dance and PE.
  • A strong focus on communication, emotional development and independence.
  • Experienced SEND staff who work collaboratively to support pupils.
  • A welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Opportunities for teachers to develop specialist SEND knowledge and experience.

The school particularly values creative teachers who can think outside the box, adapt their teaching and bring energy, patience and enthusiasm into the classroom.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has experience teaching within KS1 or KS2.
  • Can confidently adapt lessons to meet pupils working below age-related expectations.

  • Is creative, patient, nurturing and adaptable.
  • Enjoys working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants.
  • Is passionate about helping children achieve their individual potential.

ECTs are encouraged to apply!
