Nursery Nurse Jobs

At SANZA Teaching Agency we have lots of vacancies for nursery nurses at pre-schools and nurseries around London and the wider UK.

Nursery nurses are responsible for ensuring children from birth to five years of age are cared for in a secure, safe environment, and the role is ideal for people who enjoy working with young children and helping them develop.

You will be expected to encourage the development of young children, including their basic language skills, by using play, songs and stories to pass on information. The role may also require the feeding and changing of babies and young children.

To excel as a nursery nurse, you should be of a positive disposition, patient and flexible, and have good communication skills. An awareness of health & safety and hygiene regulations might also be beneficial.

Although there are no requirements for qualifications for this role, there are courses that can increase the likelihood of employment and provide relevant skills, including a BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care an NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development and a CACHE Diploma in Child Care and Education.

Many nurseries and pre-schools will insist on basic qualifications, for example GCSEs, and all will expect applicants to undergo background checks by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to ensure they can safely work with very young children.
