Required Teaching Documents

Below is a detailed outline of the vetting procedures and documents we will need to see before you can work in the UK.

Please don't be daunted by the volume of paperwork required, it's necessary in order to work for a Quality Mark holding agency like SANZA Teaching Agency. In return you'll be able to choose from a greater range of school and receive better rates of pay. We will of course guide you through these requirements, every step of the way when in your home country and when here in the UK. When you arive in the UK we will invite you to our office to discuss your relevant experience and what you want from a teaching job in the UK. 

References

  • 2 x written references on school letterhead written by someone in a senior position who is not a direct co-worker e.g. a Headteacher, Deputy Head or Head of Department.
  • For teaching assistants both references must be relating to your experience with children. TA’s must have 6 months experience working in a school.
  • References must be signed, on letterhead, dated and include your length of employment.
  • Every candidate must have two references sighted AND verified. We contact the author of the reference to confirm all the details of the reference) prior to being offered work. Therefore our UK consultants must be able to provide evidence in the UK that the references were verified.


Qualifications

  • An original copy of teaching qualification.
  • If you can't provide the original copy we can verify it in writing with the university with whom you hold the degree.
  • All candidates must a CV with no unexplained gaps in their career history.

DBS

  • All candidates must have a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check from within the UK.* This will be organised for you before you arrive in the UK. a FEE OF £44 (APPROX. $80AUD) applies for the DBS. You can however claim these funds back once you've worked 20 days for us in the UK!

Police Checks

  • If a candidate has lived in any country for over 3 months in the last 10 years they must have a criminal record check for that country. Therefore all teachers require a criminal record check before coming to the UK, and will do for any other countries they have lived in. Please ensure that the police check is not older than 3 months when you depart for the UK.
    Australian Candidates:
    Visit www.afp.gov.au to print an application for a federal police checks Candidates need to click on National police check application form. The rest is self explanatory in the guidance notes. Alternatively SANZA can process a Police Check on your behalf within 24hours. A fee of $48.50 applies and we require 100 points of ID.

Passport/Visa

  • A SANZA representative must always see your original passport and visa. We cannot place a teacher in any school without having seen the original passport and visa. We need to see the cover page of your passport, which has the emblem on it as well as the inside cover of your passport, which has your photo on it.
