Our Teacher Registration Process

Below you will find a detailed outline of the vetting documents and procedures we need to see before you can work in the UK.

SANZA is a Quality Mark holding agency and so the following information is required. As a result we work with some of the best schools in the UK giving you greater choice and better rates of pay. We will of course guide you through the process, every step of the way.

Our team of dedicated consultants in our overseas offices are on hand to assist any candidates looking to relocate to the UK. We ensure that everything is prepared for your arrival in the UK.

Once in London we meet all of our teachers at our Head Office in central London. It's a great opportunity to meet your consultants, ensuring we get the right teaching job for you.

Required Documents and Procedures

References

  • We require two written references on the schools letterhead paper from a senior member of staff, for example the Head of Department, Deputy Head Teacher or Principle. This person must not be a co-worker.  
  • If you are applying for a teaching assistant role the references must relate to you experience with children. To apply for a TA job role you should have 6 months school work experience.
  • Please ensure that all references are signed, on letter headed paper and dated. They must also include the timescale of your employment.
  • We will verify your references before offering you any school work.

Qualifications

  • We will need to see the original copy of your teaching qualification(s).
  • If it is not possible for us to see the original as an alternative we can verify your qualification in writing with the university with whom you hold the degree.
  • You must provide a CV with importantly no unexplained gaps in career history.

DBS

  • A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check from within the UK is required for all candidates. 
  • SANZA organise the DBS or your behalf, prior to your arrival in the UK. The DBS charge £52.50 for the check, but once you've worked for SANZA in the UK for at least 20 days, you can claim this back.

Police Checks

Before we can place you in a UK school you must have a criminal record check from every country that you have lived in for more than 3 months in the last 5 years.

  • Australian Candidates: We can organise your Australian Federal Police Check for you. A fee of $48.50 applies and we require 100 points of ID.

  • Canadian candidates: We can organise your Canadian police clearance for you. A fee of $33CAD applies and is paid directly to the police department. We require 100 points of ID.

  • New Zealand Candidates: We can organise your New Zealand police clearance for you and it's free of charge. We require 100 points of ID.
