Hours: Part-time, lunchtime hours - £15 per hour 11:30-1:30

The Opportunity

SANZA Teaching Agency are delighted to be working with a creative and welcoming school in North West London who are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic SMSA / Lunchtime Supervisor to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and would like to play an important part in making lunchtimes a safe, positive and enjoyable part of the school day.

The school is looking for someone who is approachable, sensible and confident when supervising children, while being happy to get involved in encouraging positive play and interaction.

About the School

This is a creative school based in North West London, with a strong focus on providing children with a positive and engaging school experience.

The successful candidate will become part of the wider school team and play an important role in supporting pupils during the lunchtime period.

The Role

As an SMSA / Lunchtime Supervisor, you will supervise pupils throughout the lunchtime period and help ensure that lunch and playtimes run safely and smoothly.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising pupils while they eat lunch and during playground activities
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and good manners
  • Supporting children to play safely and positively with their peers
  • Helping to maintain a calm, happy and inclusive lunchtime environment
  • Monitoring pupils' safety and wellbeing
  • Responding appropriately to minor incidents and reporting any concerns to the relevant member of staff
  • Supporting children who may need additional reassurance or encouragement
  • Working closely with other lunchtime supervisors and school staff
  • Following the school's safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures

  • Understand the importance of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Are punctual, reliable and able to commit consistently to the required hours
  • Can communicate effectively with children and colleagues
  • Work well as part of a wider school team

Previous experience within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work or similar setting would be beneficial. However, candidates with relevant transferable experience and the right approach to working with children are also encouraged to apply.
